03/20/10 10-0775 ESAR's, GSSD's, NWBH's and our unit, were alerted at 02:15 hrs, to respond to the town of Steilacoom at 05:15 hrs. for a ferry ride to Anderson Island. Search was planned for a missing woman on Anderson Island. Fire Department found woman and was treating her, so the callout was cancelled at 03:05 hrs.
03/01/10   17:30 call out. 5 year old boy missing in Tacoma. Found by Police and unit was turned around/mission cancelled before anyone showed up.

01/22/10

 

   12 Year old female missing in Parkland. Units called out at 20:34 hrs for search. Subject was found at 21:47 hrs and search called off.
11/19/09  
Missing 53 year old male. Disappeared from nursing home in Lakewood and search was concentrated near Lakewood mall starting around 2330 hrs. Units responding were 638 and 649. Active search was only conducted for 12 hours. Man was found several days later at friends house in Fife, Wa.

16 Year old female, missing from home in Puyallup area. Searchers responded at 1530 hrs until 2315 hrs. Subject had been with relatives and was returned home not knowing she was being searched for. Units responding were 638,622,624,626,643,645,662,674,672 and 685.

 09-0930
3 Missing men on horseback in Elbe hills area. Called out at 0600 hrs. Family members called police when they failed to return the previous evening. Subjects located by plane and were walking out, after being lost overnight. Units responding were 638 and 685. 
07/06/09 09-1927 Day evidence search in NW corner of Capital Forest, for 10 year old girl, missing since 26 June. Called out to assist Thurs ton County SAR. and was staged out of the Straddleline ORV Park. Units responding were 638, 674, 685, 643, 637 and 624. Nothing found.
06/22/09   Called out at 0400 hrs to look for missing 32 year old female bicyclist, who had become separated from her parents during Capital Forest outing the previous night. German Shepard Search team found woman on road heading towards the parking lot at 0730.Units responding were 639,649 and 685.

04/21/09

 09-1135 Search was based out of the University Place Police Station. Looking for a 20 year old mentally challenged Male who disappeared at 1800 hrs. He was found at 0300 Hrs on the 21st. sitting outside a gas station in Tacoma. Units responding were 626, 647 and 648.

Search for missing 57 year old Male alzheimer patient. Location for search was Wright park, Tacoma, near Ruston Way. Subject was found by police as units showed up. Units responding were 638,626 and 624. 

01/07/09

 

   Unit activated for flooding in the town of Orting. We manned 2 roadblocks enforcing road closures to prevent looting in evacuated housing areas. Almost all our units were able to participate in this two day call out.

12/22/08
 
Called out to Silver Lake, Wa. Near Castle rock to assist Cowlitz County SAR. Blizzard conditions made travel down I-5 very difficult. ESAR's units could not make it and turned back. 3 of our units responded 625, 638 and 685. Search was conducted by vehicle in deep snow for 4 hours, during a break in weather. Units returned home as 2nd blizzard came in. Subject was 52 year old man who had gone shooting in the woods. Man found several days later and it was determined that he had died accidentally the day he went missing..

DEM activated unit to help transport mission critical medical personnel. 14 members responded.  The unit transported 104 emergency medical personnel they also put in a total of 175.25 hrs & drove 2,117 miles
12/08   Lost hunter in Snoqualmie.  3 units responded. Hunter found safe. Walked out of woods
10/05/08   Lakewood, 18 y/o with mentality of a 10 y/o missing. Found quickly at a video store about 2 miles away.
08/04/08 08-2441 Missing 11 y/o male while hiking in Skamania County. Found next day on forest service road, tired but fine.
07/16/08 08-ES-0033 Union, Mason County – Evidence search for a man who had been missing for over two weeks. Search was concentrated in wooded areas outside town of Union.
6/10/08 08-1717 Walkaway 20 y.o. Asian in University Place. May be deaf or hard-of-hearing.
5/19/08 08-1440 Missing Alzheimer patient in Tacoma, Wright Park.
3/28/08   Missing 74 yo man missing from McGee's in Graham. Found deceased next day.
3/27/08 08-0827 Missing white 80 yo male with wearing only one shoe from a retirement home in Graham.
1/23/08   Missing male, 53 with a variety of medical problems. Found by TPD patrol.
8/30/07 07-2863 Missing 11 yo boy with epilepsy, missing since 0745, base at TPD 16th & MLK Way. Found by Casey C. at Stadium High School. (1445-1930).
8/26/07 07-2802 Missing 11 yo, No. Tacoma, base at 46th and No. Pearl, search suspended. (0010-0756).
08/15/07 07-2650 Two missing boys, 16 yo and 6 yo, 8511 S Pine in Lakewood. Found at a friend’s house in Tacoma. No response.
07/04-10/07 07-2030 Search in the Hilltop area of Tacoma & Tiger Mt. for missing 12/yo female who was abducted. Subject was located in the Silver Lake area. PCSAR4X4's contribute 13 people who spent a total of 200.5 hours and drove a total of 1407 miles. Good job in difficult conditions.
07/03/07 07-1997 Search in Eatonville off Scott Turner Rd. for missing 12/yo male who been out hiking. Subject was located next AM.
05/24/07 07-1744 Search in Tacoma for 2 boys age 6 & 11 missing in the McKinnley area. The boys were located 5 hours later wondering the area.
05/23/07 07-1507 Search in Pierce County near River Rd for a 70/yo female. Subject was found within two hours of start of search.
05/19/07 07-1441 Search in King County for a 47/ yo male jogger missing since the 18th. The subject walked out on his own a day later.
03/19/07 07-0780 The unit was called out to Thurston Co. to search 4 missing dirt bike riders who last seen on the 18th. The subjects where located in Capitol forest near the 9000-9500 rd 3 members responded drove approximate 300 miles for 15 HR.
02/23/07 07-0534 The 4x4 unit search for a missing 54 y/o Asian woman. In NE Tacoma. She was tracked by GSSD to a bus stop after no sent was found beyond the stop it was assumed she took a bus to an unknown location. The ladies was found after she walked into a nearby store days later 10 members responded for total 67 hr. and drove 615 miles.
02/02/07 07-0333 The unit was called out for search in the Elbe / lewis CO. for three males & a dog out wheeling. All 3 three walked out of the woods in good health. 7 members responded for 42hrs & drove 765 miles.
01/25/07 07-0243 Search in Lakewood for 57y/o Asian female with a mentality of a 7 y/o subject was located by someone who pass by her @ 8:30 am 112th & Pacific Ave S in parkland 3 member responded put in 15.5 Hr. & drove 168 miles.
01/03/07 unknown A couple members assisted by transferring an elderly to a FEMA center.
12/22/06 06-3961 The unit assisted the King Co. Sheriffs Dept. & the US Army w/ the recovery of an Army UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter. 3 members put in 24 hr. & drove over 300 miles.
12/15-18/06 unknown The unit assisted in windstorm issues including blankets for shelters by going above the call of duty. A few members were featured on a local television station.
11/19-20/06 unknown Search in King Co. for 33 female who didn't return to vehicle after a day of snowshoeing in the Denny creek area. Subject located by helicopter alive.
11/06-07/06 06-3338 Unit was called out to assist DEM with sandbagging due to Nov flooding 5 members responded for total 30hrs.
10/15/06 06-3319 Search in Elbe - Ashford area for three missing hunters who didn't return from one day hunting trip on 10/14/06 subjects located in good health. 5 members responded for a total of 24 hr. and 443 miles driven.
10/14/06 unknown Search in Pacific Co. long beach area for 60 y/o male who didn't return from a walk. Subject located the next Am walking on the beach.
4/19-20 unknown The unit was called to help USAR w/ simulation - deploying for a disaster.
4/11-14/06 05-3326 The unit assisted the Lakewood Police dept. on an evidence search we shifted through dirt, clean up trash & debris @ the site.
4/9-10/06 unknown The unit was call out to Greenwater to search for 2 missing hikers they where located by Brian Ralph, Casey Cortese & PC Sheriffs deputies.
4/6/06 05-3326 Assist PC Sheriffs/ESAR for evidence search. Some assistance, mostly on standby on site.
3/22/06 06-0758 The 4x's where called out to 38th & A St. in Tacoma to search for a 70yo male with Dementia & Schizophrenia subject was located @ harbor view hospital in Seattle. 6 members responded for total 19.5 hr. & drove 202 miles.
2/27/06 06-0545 The 4x's were called out to Greenwater area to search for two males; one 24 the other 13 last seen in a red jeep wrangler. The subjects were located by Russ Leu of the 4x's.

& 12/6/05		 05-3326 Search In the Tillicum area for a missing 10 yo female the case has been turned over to the FBI. 12 members responded for total of 42.25 hours & 264 miles.
10/25/05 unknown Search for a 78y/o male w / dementia and his dog just past the Elbe area the two where located safe approx. 12:30 AM by GSSD.
8/11/05 unknown The unit set up a display @the PC. fair.
8/2/05 unknown The unit set up a PR booth @ the annual fircrest night out against crime.
6/3/05 unknown Search for a 80 y/o female who was picking ferns in the Elbe hills orv area the subject was found safe by GSSD on 6/4/05 approx. 7:30 am.
4/23/05 unknown The unit assisted the Pierce, CO. Sheriffs dept. w/ creating new maps of the greenwater area.
4/17/05 unknown Search for a 50 yo male w/depression in the Elbe hills orv park. Subject was found in Sept. 7 members put in a total of 49 HR.
12/13/04 04-3228 Missing 62 yr old female with alzheimer patient. Last seen waring long brown quilted coat. Met at Taylor st. in Edgewood by church. Woman was found around 3pm that afternoon by FW Police by Costco.
11/20/04 04-3013 Missing 9 year old autistic boy. Rendezvous at 47th and Baltimore in N. Tacoma. PC Deputy on scene.
10/17/04 unknown The 4x's where called out to Evan's creek ORV park to search for a missing subject that was involved in a roll over accident. RDVZ was @ orv park entrance. The search was a turn around after an hour from being called out subject was located by the PC Sheriffs.
8/29/04 04-ES-053 The 4x`s provided assistance with traffic control and hauled equipment to & from the field on an evidence search located along 410. The result: ESAR located the rest of remains of Sandi Rae Johnson who had been missing since 04/26/96
4/24/04 03-0188 Re-search of an area near Key Center that was searched for 2 days last year. Negative results. Ace is still missing. 7 members responded for a total of 63.5 hours and 560 miles.
4/17/04 unknown Escort floats from city to city for the Daffodil Parade, 11 members assisted for a total of 137 hours and 854 miles.
4/04/04 04-0694 Search on Anderson Island for 16 y.o. male with mental age of 5 who walked away from a foster home. Turn-around enroute.
4/02/04 04-0673 Search at Lewis Lake on Ft. Lewis for possible suicide. Vehicle left in parking area with suicide note left inside. Negative results. 4 members responded for a total of 24 hours and 351 miles.
3/13/04 04-T-156 Basic and intermediate helicopter training by the Mast unit at Ft. Lewis. 34 SAR volunteers sucessfully completed the training. 8 were from PCSAR4X4.
2/27-2/29/04 unknown Course A. An initial field training for new members. Held at Pack Forest. 4 new members sucessfully completed the course.
2/25/04 04-0399 Search in Elbe-Ashford area for missing Snap-On tool salesman. Van located on fire about one mile off Hwy 706 towards ORV Park. Victim located by PCSO mid afternoon in ditch off 22nd E. bludgeoned and deceased. Suspects arrested evening of 2/26. 3 members responded for a total of 18 hours and 338 miles.
1/6/04 04-0025 Called out by DEM to assist transporting medical personell to area hospitals due to very hazardous driving conditions. 10 members responded.
1/4/04 04-0026 Search for missing 56 yo female alzheimers in Buckley-Bonney Lake area. Subject located by family. Turn around before most members reached search base.
1/3/04 04/0002 Assist King Co. in search for missing skier in area of Alpental ski area at Snoqualmie Pass. Located the next day by helicopter. Reached by ground team and evauated by MAST helicopter to Harborview. 6 members responded for a total of 79 hrs and 820 miles.
1/1/04 04-0008 Search for 2 missing 10yo boys in the Roy-McKenna area Located safe by dog team @ approx 2300 hrs. 12 members responded for a total of 29 hours and 412 miles
